Our Operations Base
The Happiness Horsebox is based between the North Wessex Downs & Cotswolds Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in South Oxfordshire. Our local attractions include 'the Valley of the Racehorse, the 4,000 year old Uffington White Horse and National Trust estates.
North Wessex Downs ANOB
No matter what the weather, we love travelling around the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It includes 5 downland areas, covering south Oxfordshire, West Berkshire and Wiltshire. The views are spectacular, and there is an abundance of birds and wildlife to appreciate.
It has a special place in horse lover's hearts as it hosts the Valley of the Racehorse around Lambourn, as well as the Uffington White Horse. We have been working with landowners and venues in the AONB to enable more access for people living with disabilities to visit these beautiful places.
Experience Oxfordshire Countrylife
We are proud to be a partner of Experience Oxfordshire, who support us in reaching out to visitors to our lovely county. In our opinion, the countryside, villages and living history of the county are as special as the spires of Oxford or the splendour of Blenheim Palace.
We can show you wildlife and birds thriving on ancient farmland, meet heavy horses at work (and play), as well as arranging visits to racing yards and the glorious gallops.
Just let us know what your group needs....
A special feature of the Cotswolds Landscape is their successful project to create the largest network of wildflower-rich Jurassic limestone grassland in the country. The diversity of wildflowers in the grasslands are particularly important for pollinators such as bees and butterflies, including many rare species such as the Chalkhill Blue and Duke of Burgundy.
Through careful management, this habitat is abundant with beautiful wildflowers, supporting a vast diversity of wildlife, with a variety of invertebrates and all the birds and mammals that depend on them.
